I’m Ben.
And I help people who are nice to pretty much everyone…
Except themselves.
If you’re like me, you’ve already tried fixing your problems by being hard on yourself
And if you’re like me, and most people I’ve worked with, you already know how little that helps…and how much it sucks.
Since you’re already on a therapist’s website, I’ll assume you’re open to trying something new. So here’s my pitch:
I want you to be nicer to yourself.
That may sound simple, but the most powerful changes I have seen in myself and my clients all start with the same, powerful decision:
“I’m gonna treat myself like someone I like.”
Granted, if therapy was as easy as just deciding to be nicer to yourself, I’d be out of a job. But despite all my diplomas, certifications, and trainings in psychotherapy, that basic principle of self-compassion guides my work from both sides of the therapy couch…and I think it can make you feel better, too.
I work with a lot of different challenges—depression, anxiety, OCD, trauma, relationship distress, chronic pain—but at their core, I believe the cause is often the same: hard-wired patterns of negative self-talk, self-image, and self-esteem that your brain knows a bit too well.
As a therapist, I help people break that cycle. Our work isn’t about fixing what’s “wrong” with you. It’s about helping your brain learn new, more helpful patterns through a blend of evidence-based approaches, neuroscience-informed methods, and good old-fashioned compassion.
I can’t guarantee that this, or any other therapy, will work for you. But when therapy does work, the results often look like this:
Making peace with your inner critic
Building a more compassionate relationship with yourself
Feeling lighter, calmer, and more at home in your inner and outer world
So whether you’re dealing with sadness, worry, old wounds, or just tired of being a jerk to yourself, therapy can give you tools to move forward.

I provide compassionate, collaborative, and evidence-based treatment for children, teens, adults, and couples.
Specializations
My primary focus is providing therapy for children and teens with anxiety and OCD. These challenges are incredibly common, but they often require more than general talk therapy.
I also specialize in working with adults experiencing anxiety, OCD, and treatment-resistant depression.
Whether you’re searching for a child anxiety and OCD therapist in the Pasadena area, an OCD specialist in San Marino, or support for depression that hasn’t responded to other treatments, I provide active, compassionate, and evidence-based therapy in person and online.
