Practical therapy for men, young adults, and families who feel stuck
In-person therapy in San Marino, minutes from Pasadena, South Pasadena, and the San Gabriel Valley. Serving all of California via telehealth.
From the outside, things might look fine…
You’re working, showing up, handling responsibilities, taking care of people, and getting through the day.
But on the inside, something feels off.
Maybe you feel burned out, anxious, depressed, irritable, disconnected, overwhelmed, self-critical, or stuck in patterns you can’t seem to change. Maybe your family is caught in a seemingly inescapable cycle of conflict, avoidance, reassurance, or shutdown. Maybe you’re not sure what’s wrong exactly, but you know something needs to shift, and you’re not sure where to start.
If you see yourself or your family in any of these words, I want you to know that you’re in the right place. And I would be happy to talk.

Therapy for Men
You’re working, showing up, handling responsibilities, taking care of people, and getting through the day.
My work is practical, direct, compassionate, and collaborative. I’m interested in helping you discover what is actually keeping the problem stuck, utilize the strengths you already have, and develop new strategies to make changes and feel better.
Failure to Launch/“Stuck” Young Adults
I also work with young adults and families dealing with failure-to-launch patterns. While this isn’t an official diagnosis, experiencing challenges in becoming a fully independent adult is an ever-increasing phenomenon that’s occurring around the world.
Failure to launch is rarely just simple laziness. It often involves anxiety, depression, shame, avoidance, low confidence, executive-function challenges, unclear expectations, family conflict, parent accommodation, substance use, sleep disruption, gaming, or a young adult who feels both highly dependent on their parents and families, but deeply embarrassed about this dependence at the same time. Regardless of how failure to launch presents, one thing is consistent: a disconnect from meaningful relationships and activities, and a delay in creating the life they always wanted.
Individual therapy can help. But failure to launch often almost always exists inside a larger system.
Depending on the situation, effective work may include individual therapy for the young adult, parent consultation, family sessions, clearer expectations, reducing unhelpful accommodation, and support for the anxiety, shame, or avoidance that keeps everyone stuck.
The goal is not blame.
The goal is to understand the pattern and begin changing it, so these highly dependent young adults can finally launch into the lives they always imagined.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and Integration
I also offer ketamine-assisted psychotherapy preparation, therapeutic support, and integration in collaboration with qualified medical prescribers when appropriate.
My preference is for therapy-centered KAP. While some ketamine treatment is focused primarily on the medicine experience itself, I am especially interested in lower-dose approaches that preserve therapeutic contact, allow more verbal processing, and keep the work grounded in preparation, support, and integration.
Ketamine is a medical treatment and requires evaluation, prescribing, and supervision from an appropriate medical professional. My role is to provide the therapeutic frame: helping clients prepare thoughtfully, stay connected to the work during the experience when appropriate, and integrate what comes up afterward.
This work may be especially relevant for clients dealing with persistent or treatment-resistant depression, when medically appropriate.
Support for Children, Teens, and Parents
Due to the importance of clinical fit, I take child, teen, and parent-support cases selectively.
I am often a better fit when a family is referred by another mental health professional, psychiatrist, pediatrician, school counselor, or trusted colleague who already has some understanding of the situation.
I am happy to discuss a potential case and think through whether my approach may be useful. If I decide I am not the right fit, or if my clinical policies are not a fit for your family, I will do my best to point you toward a colleague, referral, or additional resource that may make more sense.
I am generally not the right fit for high-conflict custody cases, custody evaluations, reunification therapy, court-involved therapy, or situations where the goal is simply to drop a child off and have me “fix” them.
When I do work with kids and teens, I usually take a systems-based approach that may include parent involvement, family sessions, and practical changes outside the therapy room.
My approach is practical, direct, compassionate, and collaborative. I draw from evidence-based and clinically grounded approaches, but no matter how we work together, the goal usually looks something like this: identify your goals, understand what is keeping you stuck in unhelpful patterns and negative shelf-talk, and help you make meaningful changes.
How I Work
Fees and Location
I offer in-person therapy at my office in the San Marino Psychiatric Associates building in beautiful San Marino, minutes from Pasadena, South Pasadena, and surrounding communities of North East Los Angeles.
I also offer online therapy throughout California.
My standard fee is $250 per 50-minute session. I am a private-pay/out-of-network therapist and can provide superbills when appropriate. Not every insurance plan accepts superbills, and I cannot guarantee reimbursement, but I’m happy to provide more information about questions to ask your insurance carrier.
Book Your Free Consultation Call
If you’re interested in working with me, or want to learn more, the first step is to schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation.
We’ll talk briefly about what is going on, what you are looking for, and whether this feels like a good fit.
There is no charge for this call, and you do not need to be completely sure about therapy before reaching out.
Sometimes the consultation confirms that working together makes sense. Sometimes it helps clarify that another provider or type of support would be a better fit.
Either way, it is a simple place to start. And a power sign that you’re ready to make meaningful change in your life.
