Therapy for Men in San Marino
Practical therapy for men experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, burnout, relationship strain, self-criticism, and feeling “stuck”
In-person in San Marino, minutes from Pasadena, South Pasadena, and the San Gabriel Valley. Serving all of California via telehealth.
From the outside, things might look fine…
From the outside, you may look like you’re doing fine. You’re working, handling responsibilities, showing up for people, and getting through the day.
But on the inside, something feels off. And no matter what you try, you can’t quite fix it.
In technical terms, you might be experiencing anxiety or depression. In practical terms, you may feel burned out, anxious, angry, disconnected, flat, overwhelmed, self-critical, or just “off.”
If you’re anything like most guys I work with — and exactly like me before I started therapy — you may keep telling yourself you should be able to handle it on your own, or that you just need to try harder.
But if you’re on this page, I take that as a good sign that you’re ready to try something different.
Therapy can be a place to stop white-knuckling, understand what is actually keeping the pattern stuck, and develop a better strategy.
A Strategic Shift
A lot of the traits men rely on — discipline, independence, humor, loyalty, problem-solving, toughness, protectiveness, being useful under pressure — are real strengths. And I’m sure they’ve taken you far in life.
But when things aren’t working, a strategic shift can help.
Because sometimes pushing harder is the best solution. Sometimes it burns you out faster.
Sometimes handling things alone is necessary. Sometimes it turns into isolation.
Sometimes being stoic is a virtue. Sometimes it becomes emotional shutdown.
Therapy with me is not about turning you into someone else. It is about understanding what is working now, what isn’t serving you anymore, and what needs to change so you can feel more like yourself again.
We Might Be a Good Fit to Work Together if You’re Experiencing…
Burnout or work stress
Anxiety, overthinking, or constant pressure
Depression, numbness, or low motivation
Excessive self-criticism, negative self-talk, and low self-confidence
Trauma
Obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors
Irritability, anger, or emotional shutdown
Relationship strain or disconnection
Avoidance, procrastination, or “stuckness”
Unhealthy relationships with substance use, video games, or other compulsive coping behaviors
The sense that life looks fine from the outside, but does not feel right on the inside
Therapy That Gets to the Point
My approach is practical, direct, compassionate, and collaborative. I draw from many different modalities and approaches, but even if ACT, CBT, SFBT, or ERP look like spilled Alphabet Soup to you, just know that my goal is to meet you where you’re at, and help you meet your goals. That might look like understanding your past, and how it is impacting your current life and relationships. It might look like applying your current strengths in the pursuit of your ideal future. Usually, it’s a mixture of both. But in either case, we’ll figure it out together.
You do not need to show up with perfect insight. You do not need to know how to “do therapy” correctly. You do not need to cry on command, impress me, or have the right emotional vocabulary. You don’t need to lie down on the couch. But if you want to, it’s a pretty comfortable couch. And if you’d rather not have a couch involved in your therapy at all, I offer walk and talk sessions in local parks, as well.
How Therapy Can Help

Increased connection to meaningful relationships and activities
Greater insight into yourself and what makes you feel stuck
Increased emotional flexibility
Improved communication in your relationships
Reduced anger, shame, anxiety, and depression
Increased motivation and self-respect

Improved presence in your relationships, family, and work.
New strategies to confront the challenges in your life
Fees and Location
I offer in-person therapy at my office in San Marino, minutes from Pasadena, South Pasadena, and surrounding communities of North East Los Angeles.
I also offer online therapy throughout California.
My standard fee is $250 per 50-minute session. I am a private-pay/out-of-network therapist and can provide superbills when appropriate. Not every insurance plan accepts superbills, and I cannot guarantee reimbursement, but I’m happy to provide more information about questions to ask your insurance carrier.
Schedule Your Free Consultation Call
If you’re interested in working with me, or want to learn more, the first step is to schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation.
We’ll talk briefly about what is going on, what you are looking for, and whether this feels like a good fit.
There is no charge for this call, and you do not need to be completely sure about therapy before reaching out.
Sometimes the consultation confirms that working together makes sense. Sometimes it helps clarify that another provider or type of support would be a better fit.
Either way, it is a simple place to start. And a powerful sign that you’re ready to make meaningful change in your life.
